There is an option in the mythfrontend setup that is something to this effect of "remember position in video tree," which I thought meant somehow that it would save your location in the mythvideo tree (you would start in the folder of the last video you watched or soemthing like that). I have a ton of shows and videos nested in there, so this sounded like a great feature. But it doesn't work for me. I always startup at the root folder of mythvideo. Does anybody use this option? Does it work? Is it supposed to do something else?

It works for me.. but I have found that you have to exit the menu where you are and not back out of the menus to get back to the main menu. Otherwise you will always be in root.

Thanks! I'm just glad someone confirmed it works like I thought it should.
I believe I tried that before (I use a jump key for that takes me directly to the main menu) but it didn't work when I used it. How do you exit mythvideo?
Seems it would be a better implementation if it remembered the position of the last video you played.

Just thinking about it a bit more... perhaps the problem is that I also use a jump key to enter mythvideo? I'll investigate further when I get back in front of my machine.

yeah the jumpkey might be the problem.. I use the 'stop' button to exit from mythvideo menu.

May I also ask which view in mythvideo do you use (gallery, browse, list)? Just narrowing down variables.

I use the list view I belive.. the same as the recordings menu. Not at home so can't verify.. I know that it isn't the gallery view

Yeah, that's the list view. I typically use the gallery view.
Thanks again. This should be enough for me to figure out if I have a problem or if I just have to enter and exit a different way.

Well, I'm home, and after experimenting, I think it just doesn't work in gallery view. I switched over the list view and it worked fine, even when using the jump points. That's that I guess...
