Is there a substitute driver for the Fusion remote on Mythbuntu. It is not on the list, and I need to activate it for a machine I am building for my handicapped brother. Any help would be appreciated.

(FusionHDTV 5 RT Gold card)

BUMP!

DIVCO FusionHDTV 5 RT Gold capture card with IR remote.
repository install of Mythbuntu over Gutsy 7.10 OS
MOST of that is now totally functional and will be tested further when the remote gets installed.
Will be used as a PVR on Comcast cable in the US.

OK, found some of the issues/answers. Still problems.

It seems the remote codes have not been entered into the Gnome lirc library even though they are available at several sources including Source Forge. (we should be able to update that LIBRARY LIST rather than go through some convoluted means of installing.)
http://live.gnome.org/gnome-lirc-properties tells me that there should be an infrared remote control line in the Administrator menu .. there is NOT on this set up.

LOTS of information (saturation) at the LIRC site, but they forget that most of us are not programmers, but users. And that most of us really don't want to become programmers (nothing against programmers .. just not my ball of wax)(you don't have to be a master mechanic to drive a car.)

As with most issues that have a "FIX" .. those writing the fix make far too many assumptions as to the level of skills of those seeking answers and write "over the heads" of most. Leaving out steps that they "assume" everyone knows.

(This, by the way, is my primary gripe about Linux .. not the programs, but the HELP. It is what scares away many a prospective new user.) (These forums being a BIG exception to that!)

Any help at all on this issue will be appreciated.
