Hi,

The times I have seen people asking, "How do I install Mac OSX on my Mac because the installer won't recognize my HDD?". These questions might have died out now, but I thought I could try to help by writing up a little tutorial.

1. Get out your OSX install disk(s).
2. Turn on your Mac.
3. At the login window/screen open up your DVD/CD ROM Drive and insert the first instal disk.
4. Power off your Mac.
5. Turn your Mac on again, but as soon as you hear the chime or better still, as soon as you have turned it on, hold the 'C' key.
6. It will then boot up the Disk Menu, looking very similar to OSX.
7. At the top click 'Installer' and then click 'Disk Utility'.
8. Select the HDD you wish to install on, on the right, the click the 'Erase' tab.
9. In the 'Erase' tab, click 'Erase', it will take about 30 seconds.
10. Exit out of 'Disk Utility' and go back into the 'Installer'.
11. Follow the installer instructions, and this time, it will recognize your HDD :)

Hope this helps some people, and if you see any more threads asking that question, please refer them here.
