i have a toshiba tecra 750dvd laptop i have tried installing xubuntu but the install always screws up part war through (it only has a pentium 1 233mhz processor)
so what i'm looking for is a distro that can install in well withing 2gig of space can work with 128mb of ram runs on a 233mhz processor and can install all extra apps and libraries via usb drives and discs (it has no Ethernet port and so far I've a very bad luck with laptop cards)

You might want to try a DWL-G650 for a wireless card, they sell them on Amazon for 12$.

I would go with Puppy I installed it on my mom's AMD 233 and it runs faster than Ununtu does on my 2.6 celeron

Puppys not pretty, but i had the new version (dingo i think) running on a 12 year old siemans desktop with 64ram. If it can work on that, it can work on anything :)

I'm using SliTaz on my more-powerful main machine (1 gig RAM, Athlon 64 X2 processor, NVIDIA graphics card). I love this little distro!

SliTaz is awesome. Great any way I've tested it (HD, Live, Virtual). Much love for the distribution.

With Window Maker preferably. Fluxbox is very slow and JWM just sucks.
