I've been searching for a good panel to use in a dual and single screen setup. My setup is as follows: i have a laptop with a 1680x1050 screen which i use at home without an external screen. At work i connect an external screen (1280x1024).
If i setup gnome in dual screen with two panels (1 on the laptop screen and one the external screen) everything is fine but when i boot up my laptop at home after that with only one screen i see two panels on that one screen.
Is there a replacement for the gnome panel that doesn't have this behavior?
I've tried the xfce panel which doesn't like dual screen setup at all, kde 4 which has kind of the same problem as the gnome one and several loose panels but none of them does exactly what i want. The only one that came close was the e17 panel but i don't think e17 on the whole is usable in a work environment.
