Dark, high-contrast things seem to be a taboo in nearly every graphics community, but hey, I love it. What can I say?
I was messing around in the development version of GIMP bug hunting, and I got this. I loved how it looked so much, I decided to save it.

It's a low-skill wallpaper, yes, but it still rocks. Haven't come up with a name for it, maybe "Penguin on the Edge of Forever"?
Nah...
I know about the whole deal with "Your brain is programmed to ignore the whitespace!" about dark, high-contrast stuff, but seriously, why do so many people seem to have a downright hate for it?
Suggest/Discuss
I also have the xcf, if anybody would care to want it.
(Also, if I'm breaking any rules, lemme know. I'm still a newbie around here, and I didn't see any rules topic stickied for this section.)
