Liase with Kubuntu?

is it possible to liase backports with them so that they are avaliable directly through you?

It would seem a sensible way of reducing duplication.

Seems sensible - you wouldn't want to download KDE 3.5 rc1 by accident...

right; not to mention a lot of that requires custom source code level patching that Backports simply was never meant for!
