Hi, I just received one of those spammer PM's today from a user by the nickname of "conkhongem"
It had a url to a dodgy Rolex watches site disguised as asking a question about a thread topic.
I am just reporting this so that everyone else out there knows, and how do I get this sorted?
Thanks :)

Please forward a link to profile pages when you get these (you can send them to me)
This is getting really annoying and we have a plan to end it soon.

There are lots of posts regarding this in the Resolution Centre too.
Spammers are trying to target Ubuntu Forums.
I scarcely think anyone would buy those things by this method.
What do the spammers gain?

There seems to be a lot of this going on at the moment, and there are other threads where some ideas for dealing with it have been tossed around - may the patiences of the mods not get too strained.

I don't know why these messages are there. It these are in the favor of Rolex Watches. I will never buy any Rolex watch, because of this way of approach.

I probably wouldn't use the "little blue pills" I often get offered by email - my cardiologist reckons it would have an adverse interaction with legally prescribed pills I have....

I don't know. But the "Nigerian" scamsters usually go away when I start pestering them to get my personal details from the phone book (they know enough about me to know my email address) and to send a deposit through PayPal
