After extensive research on the Internet I cannot adjust the actual backlight brightness on the Sony Vaio FZ470 and FZ480 series with the Nvidia 8400 video GPU under ubuntu.
However, I found a reference to a kernel change for the Nvidia 8600 on recent Macbooks.
Does anyone have any idea of this 8600 related change might yield some results for the 8400 series?
