Messenger for Hardy Heron

I tried to connect to my MSN Messenger through Pidgin but it gave me an error. Is there any other messenger I can use??? I used Kopete with Gutsy Gibbon but now I can't find it on the Add/Remove Programs. Any help????

M$ changed the msn server recently
I'd imagine Kopete comes with a lot of KDE dependencies.

If you want an MSN client only I'd try emesene or amsn

sudo apt-get install emesene
sudo apt-get install amsn

emesene seems to be having problems displaying the contacts list and I suggest getting amsn from their website: http://www.amsn-project.net/linux-downloads.php
since the new version can connect

You could also try amsn. (quite similar to msn messenger)

the MSN protocoll changed a few days ago and I think pidgin / kopete have not updated yet. aMSN has.

I would recommend amsn! It is very good and looks like MSN. Install it by clicking on the link below:
apt://amsn
