Hello im using 8,04. The problem im having is that firefox keeps slowing down or freezing and sometimes it just closes for no reason. Can someone let me know if they have had the same issues. Thanks

Tells me if the video card is working properly, a lot of video card driver issues are the causes of Firefox crashing.

That glxinfo log seems to be normal, post this output now:

open terminal , type:
firefox

it ll open up firefox and when it freezes see whether there is any error msg on terminal and post it here.

Yeah that's a good idea, also if you have both Gnash and Flash installed there could be a conflicting problem between the two.

Thanks for that link. I think it was crashing because of shockwave flash 9.0 r124 so i've disabled it, can someone recommend an alternative please.

You can download gnash, but its buggy as well with 8.04 and firefox 3

I have tried many different solutions to fix this problem but to no avail. I just wasted hours editing config files and downloading patches but that did me no good. After downgrading both ubuntu (to 7.10) and firefox (to 2.0), firefox stopped crashing when playing flash content. It works just fine now.
