View Full Version : [ubuntu] trying to share ubuntu internet connection with a windows box

I have my ubuntu machine fixed up on the internet using a speedtouch modem and another machine connected to it by an ethernet router. Previously, when both machines were running windows I could access the net from either.

Having read some threads in this forum I tried to set up using firestarter. I found a check box for "enable internet sharing" which looked promising. I then set the internet connection to ppp0 and the lan connection to eth2 ( the only options firestarter allowed). However when I clicked "finish" it failed by saying that eth2 was not ready. I have no idea what this means, as I am a beginner in all this. Any help would be much appreciated.
