Anyone else finding this please?
It seems to work in ubuntu and kubuntu 7.10, but not in 8.04

I see the it is called "gtk-recordmydesktop" which means it is based on GNOME and may not work the best in KDE

I also used krecordmydesktop in kubuntu, still the same problem, although the gtk one has better facilities and options. The probs do not exist in 7.10, omly 8.04

I notice that a later version of recordmydesktop is available but not from the repos, and I have failed to install it myself yet, I am not that experienced and cannot spend much time trying yet. If it can be done with the package manager then - ok, but otherwise is unlikely yet.

how long before the repos get updated I wonder?

It works for me without any problems, I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.

This is probably an obvious suggestion, but have you tried updating / re-installing your video driver?

I am seeing this too. Did not have this problem with Gutsy.

Has not worked once since I upgraded. Anyone file a bug on this?

Yeah both gtk-recordmydesktop and Istanbul hang in Ubuntu Hardy when trying to record screencasts, but they work fine in the older Ubuntu Gutsy.

It is after the recording is finished, it hangs while saving to disk or whatever.

Interestingly, I killed it after it hung. Restarted it...and it started to work...at least on smaller sized captures. Hmmm....

Yes - I'm having the same problem. Does anyone know of a desktop recorder that does work on Hardy? I need to create a training video to put onto my website.

I had the same problem too.

I updated recordmydesktop to version 0.3.7.3. It works ok, but krecordmydesktop still doesn't work. I compiled then qt-recordmydesktop and it works perfectly.

The sounds does not work at all....despite enabling capture. And that skype BS does not work either.

Has anyone got GTK-recordmydesktop audio working in Hardy?

Anyone? If so....post what you did to get this POS working. I'm beyond pissed off at it.
