Hi,
I've got my mythbuntu configured with the pcHDTV 5500 tuner. Works fine showing digital TV broadcast over comcast (QAM). The problem is that some programs are broadcast with black bars on ALL AROUND. It's as if they broadcast a wide-screen program in 4:3 aspect ratio and then I'm showing it on a wide-screen. If you know what I mean. This shows up on my comcast cablebox as well, so I know it is a comcast problem
Question is can I set up a transcoding job to remove all that black and shrink the MPEG file size? Ultimately, I'm trying to rsync over the internet to send smaller MPEG/MP4 files to another server for ipod viewing.
Any help would be appreciated.
