Please, please, please help me.
I am using a Linksys Wireless-g 2.4 GHz 802.11 g Model No. WUSB54G ver. 4 usb network adapter with Ubuntu. The problem is that I can connect to the internet, but the connection will only last about two minutes. Also, when it is connected the signal strength is just awful. I am having my regrets about switching to linux because I have no idea how to resolve said problem. Is there anything I can do, and if there is I would probably need some instruction. Please help and thanks if you do.

Hi: I don't know exactly what your problem is: I have the same router, I believe: it is both wireless, and wired, right? And I have two linux 8.04 computers going into it, one wireless thru a WG111v3, which took me *forever* to figure out, and the other a wired hookup, which has always worked fine...are u talking about the same thing, and if so, is a wired hookup that u r having problems with, as tonight I feel like an expert on wireless, as I fought it for *days* :), but anyway, if I can't help you, at least maybe I'll keep yer post alive, as they disappear quickly around here...

Mine uses both: I have the Linksys Wireless G Router--which is what I thought you were talking about, and u can plug in 4 eithernet cables in the back, or run it wireless, but I finally got my wireless setup to work tonite, and had to go back to may router, and restudy all it's preferences to hook this thing up...

Yeah, I was re-reading your post. I think I have the same thing...it is a Wireless-G broadband router, and you can hook up to wirelessly, or also w/four usb ethernet hookups, also...unless they make one that is only wireless, and has just the *one* usb hookup in the back...who knows, I know that wasn't your real question, anyway: me--and several other guys, have been trying hard to get the usb wireless hookup on our computers, and we had the netgear WG111, which was tuff to get all the drivers and stuff working...but the Wireless-G router I have has worked fine, that hasn't been where my problem lies...
Anyway, the guys on here are really helpful and knowledgable, and hopefully one of them will be able to answer your question...the only times I have had problems like you are talking about, with the router itself, is actually. by mistake, I *wasn't* hooked up wirelessly to the router, but to some roaming hookup, and since I have several neighbors, also running wireless hookups, I had to learn to recognize--and name--mine, but anyway, again, maybe one of the aces around here will be able to help you....
