Hey guys,

I'm working with a few sources to get these packages built for ppc folks. I'm doing the best I can with everyone so we're all happy. Please be patient I'll post how things go. At this time I'm waiting for a few dependencies to be resolved which hopefully won't be a problem.
If anyone wants to contribute sources or join me feel free.
don't forget to post feedback about it. I want to hear the ppc folks what they think about e17 & engage if you think it's worth packaging for ppc.
-Cheers:D

You have my vote too!!!!! I would love to give E17 a go. The screenshots I've seen have looked amazing.

Thanks in advance for the work your putting into this.::)

Well now x86 people are way ahead of PPC folks. E17 has already been done by a guy Shadoi or something. There's a post about it here http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/E17_shadoi_breezy for x86 folks.

As for PPC people we are far behind x86 development on linux. Only the brave and curious and those who have time to contribute to PPC are able to help out the minority in Linux systems.

I have not yet been able to port or backport for ppc due to some missing libraries which needs to be found or ported to PPC.

I am personally following the developments of E17 and Engage, hopefully I'll get something going for the PPC folks. X86 users have nothing to fear they are quite ahead of everyone in sense. It's time to focus now on PPC it's only fair to help us out even when we're the minority. Apple is going x86 anyway and not a lot of us have money or ability to upgrade to x86 but to use what we have. All in respect I'm here for everyone in this particular need.

I hope this brings some closure and good vibes from both. Cheers.

If I had any technical clue as to what to do I would help out. I use elive on an x86 and am dieing to have e17 on my ppc.

Good luck and thanks

Well I grabbed the CVS of E17 last night, just to try compiling it and see what I could get.

And the thing just works, it's very very nice... Unfortunately I don't know how to create packages or I would. There are also some issues with the install, there are still several broken dependencies which I will try to work out over the weekend, but it was fun and it's now my defaut WM..
