Hi,
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 since one month. I had many problems but this one is the only one I couldn't solve.

My sound card is RTL8100C and I think it uses the ALSA drivers!.
Everything works fine only the Mic. There is no in-signal at all. I tried lots of times but nothing works :( ... I have a good experience in solving problem but not the Hardware :) ..

Another interesting thing! In one of my crazy testing I found that the card is actually recording from the sound that is playing on my pc!

I know this by accident because that I always turn off all sound when I test Mic.

And later I found that the sound card is outing*1 sound from the whole three ports. Mic, Line-out, Line-in all acts like Line-out!!! :(

This causes the sound re-recorded as I want to record the currently playing sound, But the sound chrashy*2.

I think that the driver thought that my sound card has 6 port not 3 as like I have. Just and appraisal.

*1: out, publish broadcast whatever!
*2: looks or heard crashed
sorry I'm not English :).
