I did a server install of ubuntu. NOw apt-get update shows that practically everything has an upgrade, so everytime i have to installany application, say gnochm, some libraries need to be downlaoded from the the internet. And since i have a slow net, this doesn't work well atall.
Also even if their is no upgrade, it still looks from the internet first. Is it Possible to add cd to sources.list ?? If so then enlighten me please.
Basically i want to knowhow can i reduce net usage.
and Can someone share their ubuntu experience with a slow connection.
Thanks!
