Hey guys, you know that embed OS that boots in 5 seconds on ASUS motherboards? I was looking if there's any linux distro (or anything) that can do that. If it had firefox and pidgin it would be ok.

That IS a Linux variant called Splashtop.
From the Splashtop site:
Splashtop has two components. One is a real-time operating system that runs out of the system BIOS. The second is an optimized Linux stack that boots rapidly and can run most Linux-based applications.

That's because it's built into the motherboards.

Obviously it's just the open source part of the code. But at least you know what apps they're using.

It does not work on all BIOSes at the moment.
EDIT: First you will require the right type of BIOS chip and secondly you will most likely require the tools to program it assuming you cannot flash it.

Phoronix forums (http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?p=40215) has some info about putting it on a USB stick and customizing it. They're mostly running it in virtualbox. You can search that site and get some more information.
