I am trying install 8.04 server 32bit on an intel Dq965GF mb. Ubuntu server installs perfectly from a cd, but since I have a RAID array set up their will be no room for a CD drive. We will be making several of these machines and I want to be able to load them from a USB Drive.

I have created a USB installation that works great, I have used both the normal install and the alternate install .iso. When installing from the USB drive it will not detect my network adapter. The CD install sees it fine. I don't know what to do next.

these are the steps I used to create my USB install drive.

I can install Ubuntu from my USB drive. The installation fails at network card detection, but will complete and boot. After it boots it still won't see the network card. If I burn the ISO to CD (the same that is on my USB boot drive) and install, it does not fail and everything works fine.
