Hi,
Try to install flash nonfree from the repos. Go to system > admin > synaptic package manager (it will ask for your password) and click settings and ensure that universe and multiverse are ticked. Then close the window adn click reload in synaptic. Then search for flash nonfree adn right click it and say mark for install.
Cheers,
Lordadi.

Why would it be that im not able to play youtube videos
Because you don't have Flash installed? Or you have NoScript installed in Firefox? Or you're not using Firefox at all and are using Konqueror or Opera (which both theoretically should be able to use Firefox's plugins but sometimes have problems)?
What exactly happens when you visit a YouTube page?
