I am attempting to set up Mythbuntu using the install link on this page. I am merely attempting to use Mythbuntu to watch VHS tapes through my Hauppauge PVR150, so Backend/Frontend are all on one machine.
I believe the first time I attempted this I didn't designate the PC as the primary backend. I completely uninstalled everything related to Mythbuntu/Myth TV and reinstalled it designating the PC as the primary backend. I keep getting something about there being no uPnP backend whenever I try to designate the backend/setup via that blue screen.
I'm totally confused by all of this. Is there a simpler guide out there than webpage or the manual. The webpage doesn't go into any detail, and the manual goes over my head. I'm not sure what they are talking about for each field in the setup screen. I would give more info but I'm not at the PC right now.
Further more... If I can connect my VCR and and PVR via an S-Video cable, should I? Do I need any additional cables?
