8.04.1 iso problem

I have downloaded 8.04.1 iso. I've burned it to CD. The MD5 sum is correct. The burn gives no errors. When I run the CD integrity it gives no errors.

However once I launch either the install or run from CD it blows up. It freezes and says: 19.367499 <0> Kernel panic - not syncing. Attempt to kill the idle task!

I have 3 CDs doing the same thing. Any suggestions?

Mayb it's not the CD but the version of Hardy you are try to install who doesn't feet with you computer.
Did you try to download the alternate CD ?
And in which machine are you trying to install the CD .

Actually I have 2 machines I am getting the same results from. Both have working Ubuntu on them. One is already 8.04.1 the other is 7 something. I'm trying to update the 7 machine to 8.

Why don't you just go into Update Manager and do the update from version 7to version 8 there ?
