I recently built a computer for a friend, and he put XP on it. (Linux didn't support the chipset or something or other, busybox prompt showed up)

This is a pretty fast computer. 2.4GHZ Quad Core Intel. 4GB RAM. and a 500GB Western Digital Hard Drive. and i think an NVIDIA 8800 Graphics.

Here's the issue. When ever windows are dragged across the desktop, they move in "steps" and lag. and scrolling on web pages is laggy as well.

Question is, why would this happen on such a fast system, and what is the remedy for it?

All Help is appreciated.

graphics drivers need to be updated. You can download them from nvidias website.
