hai guys,
can OPENSUSE be installed on 32bit architecture machines (intel)?
i downloaded the live cd and tried to install it on my machine but it take far too much time than ubuntu. at one stage it stops leaving the monitor just like the tv without a channel.( i mean the grey dots)
what should i do to install it.
motheboard: asus
processor: core2duo E8400
thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to d/l & install from openSUSE 11.0 DVD. I know it takes forever to d/l but I find that the installer & hw detection on that is more thorough than the live CD(s) for some reason...

Try:
- Fedora 9 is nice. Bleeding edge, and a bit more complicated to use compared to Ubuntu or Opensuse
- Mint Linux, used to be based on ubuntu, but now I think it's based on debian? Anyway, it's a nice polished distro
- OpenSUSE 11 is very nice. Kde4 is well done, although unstable. Go with Gnome if you choose this path.
The livecd boot takes a bit longer than a regular boot. After install boot is much faster.
- PCLinuxOS I have no idea. I can never get it to work right with my laptop.
- Arch Linux, fast, lightweight, good to learn from. Manual install, meaning hardware configurations (not as hard as it sounds. The guide is really straight forward)
