Hi.
What is the easiest way to get 2 hardy boxes to talk via an Ethernet cable. this will be a one of as I need to install files from my old hardy to the new one . I tried the networking button in "places" but that didn't do much can someone point me in right direction with this problem.

If you're going to have a cable running from box to box with no switch or hub between, a regular cable won't work. You'll need a "crossover cable". There are also crossover adapters which will turn a straight cable into a crossover.
After that's sorted, you'll have your choice of NFS, Samba, or other methods. I'm sure lots of folks will jump in here with preferences & instructions.
