View Full Version : [ubuntu] port forwarding behind Belkin router Hardy 64
July 29th, 2008, 07:16 AM
Hi, I'm trying to forward some ports for Transmission, Amsn and programs like that and would like to know how to do that... On Windows XP was pretty easy and there was a lot of guides but somehow I can't seem to get it done on Ubuntu... I've looked for guides or how-to's without success so... If there is someone who can help me here it would be much more appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

do you have firestarter or anything similar running?? normally if you port forward ports on your router it should be good enough

I have no firewall running... What I'm wanting to know is how to port forward because if I'm not wrong I need a static ip to get it done, right?
If that's the case I don't know how to do that on Ubuntu...
I'm trying to get someone to explain to me what are the steps I should take to make it work...

go to system->admin->network and choose the correct network card and change from roaming mode or dhcp mode to Static ip.. and enter a static ip there.. enter gateway as your router ip..
