Hello,

I have to install 20 PCs with Ubuntu (or xubuntu).
We only need Firefox 2.0, Java 1.5 and rdesktop installed.
So, xubuntu with xfce-Desktopw would be enought.

The problem is, that the PCs are different hardware, so I can't clone one installation. (is that right?)

How can I install the 20 PCs in a silent way, or automatic?

Regards,

Philipp

I think, preseeding would be the right method.
I have already tried booting the installation via PXE, but the installation wants to get all the packages from internet.
How can I avoid this? Maybe getting from ISO on Server... but how?

and:

How can I choose software packages?
I really need only minimal X, firefox, java and rdesktop with ubuntu 7.10.
