Hi all
Im having major issues getting sound to be played from powerpoints that are displayed in Impress on an upto date ubuntu 8.04 system.
I have Java installed.I have also installed JMF and passed the test at the diagnostics page. I have configured OpenOffice to use Java and set the class path to /jmf.jar. My last attempt to get sound was to install the w32codecs, but i only get a split second of sound then it cuts out until the next slide, then the same again. Ive spent hours searching for a fix online but i cant find anything that helps...
The strange thing is that i installed OpenOffice 3 beta to see if this was an issue specific to 2.4.1, and sound does play in that (but theres no option to enable hardware acceleration so the presentations look real bad!)
Please help me people, im on the verge of going insane!!!
