I have Ubuntu 7.10 dual booted with Windows XP on my laptop.
I access the Net thru Windows XP using an OPTION GX 0202 wireless card.
After some searching of various forums I have d/loaoded Vodaphone linux driver that I believe will work with my telco and card.
When I open same with Gdebi package installer I get Error : Dependency not satisfiable: python-serial message.
I have d/l and extracted file pyserial-2.4 but am unsure of how to install same as d/load thru Win XP and not thru package installer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am keen to get into Ubuntu but am frustrated by lack of direct internet access.

The best way to download the python-serial package is to go here:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/

and download the proper file, then use gebi to install it. To use gdebi just double click on a .deb file.

By the way I saw your other thread, didn't ndiswrapper work for you?

Thanks for that info Jim, will give same a try.
Have found ndiswrapper a bit difficult for me with limited experience with Ubuntu so thought I would give Vodaphone driver a run as this has worked for others.
