View Full Version : [ubuntu] virtualbox no seamless?

hello.. i am running an ubuntu 8.04 x86 install
i have just installed xp in virtualbox but i cant seem to get the seamless view feature to work. it is grayed out..

please help

Make sure you've installed the vbox additions (so you can move the mouse from ubuntu to xp without having to click / press right control), then try seamless mode.

If that doesn't work you need to use the non-ose edition of virtualbox.

i cant find vbox additions in the repos (i also looked for virtualbox additions).. btw i am using the nonfree-ose one.. from the sun site.. still no success.. thanks

When xp is loaded up in virtualbox, you'll see virtualbox add-ons (or similar, can't remember the exact name for it) just above the xp window (in the virtual box menus just above).
Failing that you can tell virtual box to mount a virtual cd with the virtualbox add-ons.

Oops, just did a google search, it's actually called guest additions.
