Windows borders have dissappeared. help

so i installed a new theme/style and after opening a few windows, the borders have dissappeared. I tried reverting to my old theme, rebooting and they're still gone on all themes.

attached is a pic in case i'm not being clear. the green dot is where my cursor was (hovering over what would be the close window button) when the screen shot was taken but didn't show up on the actual screenshot. you can see that the "close window" dialog still shows up, but not the border.

any ideas?

Maybe you could be more specific about what theme manager you are using.

If you are using Emerald, try this (worked for me):

Press Alt+F2 (or open the terminal)
and enter
emerald --replace

I'm a noob, but had a similar problem with emerald and compiz. So if you are using these managers, who knows...
