I have been told that VMware have an excellent "Virtual" programme for running other software op systems on the UBUNTU platform. Anyone have any experience - where to get it - how to install etc.

I prefer Virtualbox. Its open source and it's in the repo.:)

For full features, I like and use only VMware Server. Get it free from their site: vmware.com

I have installed Virtual Box from the repo - but cant start it - get this error message :-
VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Please install the virtualbox-ose-modules package for your kernel, e.g. virtualbox-ose-modules-generic..
VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

Any ideas on how to solve this !

Any ideas on how to solve this !
I have tried to download Virtual Box direct from their Web - but error message appears regarding Java I need :-
Sun xVM VirtualBox 1.6
virtualbox_1.6.2-31466_Ubuntu_hardy_amd64.deb,
when I try to install this it says to check in preferences and reset !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am totally confused, any ideas ?

Just to say that I have now - at long last - downloaded and installed Virtual Box. It has been difficult but Allis now working - it is a fantastic Programme.
