although, incidentally, does anyone else miss how you used to be able to (in effect) search the forums by entering a title for a new post and hitting return? i used to get vastly better results that way than by using the actual search feature. i thought maybe the "check to see if this has already been posted" option would do it, but no.

the regular search feature doesn't seem to work well. maybe i'm doing something wrong.

I find that the 'tag' system works quite well. And you can also do an advanced search for keywords in the title only. It is usually quite effective.

That feature did a title search, which you can still do in advanced search.

That feature was also a bit heavy on the server, so it can't be used.

understood. i figured there was a reason it went away. i'll try the title search as suggested.
