If I wanted to be pretentious, I'd claim that I was reading Monte Cristo in French instead of a translation.

"Shutter Island" by Dennis Lehane
Before that was "Thud" by Terry Pratchett, and next up is "Adrian Mole and the Weapons of Mass Destruction" by Sue Townsend

These don't seem particularly overliterate choices, do they... Damnit... Last week was on "Sophie's World" and "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell"

Last book I read was "Devil in the WHite City" by Erik Larson.

Its a very fascinating page-turner about two men -- Daniel Burnham, chief architech of Chicago's Columbian Exposition in the late 1800's, and Dr. Henry H. Holmes, America's first serial killer, who set up a torture house just outside said expositions gates. Its inspiring and chilling at the same time.

How do you mangage your book collections?

I can't get the search function in Alexandria (http://alexandria.rubyforge.org/) to return anything. I am running the version from the repos and I have notified the developers.

Maybe I should try manually installing the latest version from source... That would be my first time...

Personally, I just have a bookshelf... Well, several bookshelves, stacked several books deep, but they are in author order, so I can find anything quickly. Never found a program I liked...

I don't have it in front of me but I just add a new book and type Bukowski or something like that and do an author search on Amazon or any of the other providors... no resultset... I have not figured out to add books manually. Guess I'll have to uninstall the Breezy deb and try building another version from source.

I have some of my books at my parents and some in my apartment and some I've lent to friends so it can be difficult to remember what I've got... I like to sort my books by nationality or region btw ;)

Currently reading Terry Pratchett's Pyramids(from the Discworld series).
http://www.unseen.com.au/books/pyramids.htm

The Discworld series are amoungst my favourite. They blend humour with point sharp observation of today's society. Not to forget the added spices of witches, assasins and DEATH.

If you haven't read anything from him then I can strongly recommend the series.
