[SOLVED] Firefox 3.0 not saving prefs?

I'm having a problem with Firefox 3.0.1 - it won't save it's preferences. It is saving passwords, but not any other prefs such as what is set in the options dialog. Anybody have any ideas?

For anyone who finds this thread, here is how I fixed this problem - I deleted both folders in ~/.mozilla The next time I started Firefox it recreated them, but I did loose all my settings, password, bookmarks, etc.
