I have been playing a few games on Ubuntu. Mostly Super Tux and Super Tux Kart, however, I am having trouble with playing it in Fullscreen. When I select fullscreen, it actually does not cover the screen but is still in its original size in the corner of my screen. Is there a way to actually make it fullscreen? I'm guessing it is a problem with my video card. I have an Nvidia accelerated graphics cards (latest drivers) as my video card driver. I am running Ubuntu on an HP Presario 9500 CTO laptop.

Try first by disable compiz and see if it helps. You can use fusion-icon to do this or by typing metacity --replace

Thanks. I think that fixed it, but I'm curious. It still has a black border around the game when I play it. Does anyone else get that border around these particular games? SuperTux and SuperTuxKart. Is it the game or is my video card still playing games with me?
