Am I missing something? I have seen a video in which the folder view (the little widget that shows folder content) is resized and made to fill the whole screen. How do you resize this? A little set of icons shows up at the side, but the only one that is responsive is the preferences button. The full screen one does nothing. Am I missing something here?
thanks

I think what you're refering to as the full screen icon is actually the resize icon. To resize the folderview applet you have to click this icon and drag it. I don't think there's a good way to get it to fill the whole screen at the moment, but you can make it cover a good portion of the screen.

That sounds about right. Currently, it is indeed possible to make the folderview truly fill the entire desktop (in fact, it actually *becomes* "the desktop"), but you can only do this via hacking a config file, and you will lose the wallpaper, so it's obviously not recommended :) For the time being, manually resizing and re-positioning the folderview so that it covers as much of the desktop as possible is probably your best bet.
The Plasma devs hope to make this much more streamlined with 4.2, so that the "old, KDE3" behaviour of having your desktop behave as a file manager (via the desktop itself becoming a folderview) with all the wallpaper etc intact should be doable by checking a single checkbox. Or at least, that's the plan as I understand it :)
