Ive been running Ubuntu 64bit for 2+ years now without any issues. However, this latest version (Hardy) is giving me lockups. Im trying to figure out if I have hardware conflict/incompatibility with Hardy or is there a problem with the Hardy release.

In order to make my PC lockup, all I need to-do is a "tar -cvfz". Its the "z" option(gzip) in the tar command the triggers the lockup 100% of the time.

Anyone else have this issue or use "tar -cvfz" without issue?

thx

I have a similar issue with Hardy on my Intel Centrio Duo based Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. Whenever I go to use Bluetooth, the laptop completely locks up and the only way I can recover is if I unplug the power cord and remove the battery. I'd like to be able to use my Bluetooth if I can with Hardy since I had been using it for Bluetooth dialup networking when I am working out in the field and need quick internet access.
