I dual boot XP and Ubuntu on my laptop right now. Ubuntu is my OS of choice (obviously :) ) But I must keep XP around for graphic design apps. (Illustrator, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Suitcase etc etc.)

I'm getting a nice little MSI wind before returning to school which I will use Ubuntu on, for all my school work and as my primary laptop. My larger HP laptop will just run XP.

I'm interested in ways to keep a a few directories (i.e. music, pictures, docs etc) synced across the two machines. How can I set things up so that the two PCs will keep these directories synced?

Something like a shared folder would be good EXCEPT I would like for it to keep copies of the files on both computers, and sync them up when they are both connected to my network.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You might want to check out "Conduit." it is a syncing application you can use for this purpose. it also has some other functions for syncing other things as well. go to the "conduit" homepage (http://www.conduit-project.org/) for more information. if you want to downloaded the ubuntu package for "Conduit" go here Getdeb (http://getdeb.net/). if you go to the Getdeb website just do a search for "Conduit" and it should come right up.
