View Full Version : [ubuntu] Wireless LED goes out on Kernel 2.6.20

I recently upgraded to 2.6.20 Kernel, and now the fix for the wireless LED that came down throught the System76 driver is gone. This is not overly concerning but it may be a sign that other things are undone by the kernel update.

Help?

Sorry for the double post, edit wouldn't work, but for clarification my laptop is a gazp5, running 64-bit Hardy.

Ummm...

I think you mean 2.6.24-20. I'm not trying to parse... versions, just wanted to be clear for everyone else who might find this post. 2.6.20 was Feisty Fawn.

If you're on 2.6.24-20, it is because you have "proposed updates" enabled in System > Admin > Software Sources. So, technically, it's not really ready for release yet anyway. I've already heard of a few problems that it has.

Yes that is exactly what I meant....
Yeah I had assumed as much, given that my Desktop (doesn't have proposed enabled) is still on 2.6.24-20

I finally uninstalled the -20 kernel.

I hated it.

I also unchecked the option for "proposed" updates.

It'll get you in trouble if you aren't careful.

I'm after stability this time around. I don't need problems.
