I've been looking to try out OpenSuse for a while now but I really don't feel ready yet to make the switch to KDE4. I know you can simply install it, wipe KDE4 off and then install KDE3 but it just feels more clean to install KDE3 right away.

I heard somewhere that there's a way to do this by getting the packages from the repository while installing. Does anyone have any more info about this and/or a howto about it?

Getting the DVD and installing from there is not an option since I live in Belgium where internet providers only let you download 12 gig each month -_-.

Six in one hand, half dozen in the other. One way or another, KDE 3.5.x is avail by DVD or by d/l & using the net install but you'd still have to d/l and extra 2+GB of data to complete installation...

If it's an issue and you really want KDE 3.5.x, you can scope around and see if any Linux magazines are offering it as their flavour of the month or order by mail (not via Novell or SUSE) from one of those companies that advertise on distrowatch.com
