Hi,

Is is possible to have low font hinting for GTK apps such as Firefox/Thunderbird and Medium font hinting as a default in KDE for QT apps?

If so, please give a hint how to accomplish that.

You have to install the kde3 kcontrol (or kde4 systemsettings) application. Then start and go Appearance -> Fonts. Now you can adjust the anti-aliasing and DPI settings.
