Well I made a partition to dual boot on ubuntu, but I can't get the wifi to work at all (very first time with linux of any kind)

I tried to follow guides but I got an error in the terminal every time. If someone could get me a guide with STEP-BY-STEP telling me exactly where to put files and everything :P and like exactrly what to type in the terminal, that would be MAGNIFICENT. I am using a Acer 5720z With the Atheros AR5007eg card, I get the restricted drivers message too.

What do the error messages say? If you go to system>hardware drivers is your card listed? If so it should work if you check it and install the restricted driver.

I have an Acer Aspire 3680 with the same Atheros wireless card. I followed the steps here to get mine working:

Give WICD a shot.....it makes setting up Wireless super easy.
Get it here (http://wicd.sourceforge.net/download.php)
