I'm going to quakecon in a week, and I didn't want the hassle of installing windows, so I figured I'd just install Quake4 and hopefully get CS:S working well...
I copied the .pk4 files from the first Quake4 cd into /usr/local/games/quake4/q4base but for some reason I can't access the files on the second (and third...dunno about the fourth) cd. When I put it in it tells me that I don't have the permission necessary to view the contents, and, if I attempt to copy using sudo it errors saying "cannot stat /media/cdrom0/Setup/Data/q4base/*.pk4 : No such file or directory" I haven't run the installer yet (currently downloading it actually) but it seems like I should be running it after copying the files anyways...
I know that's the correct path for the files I need...any ideas? google wasn't being very helpful... I didn't think I was a total linux noob, but maybe I'm missing something basic...
