Unpartitioning hard drive for fresh install

I've been using a dual boot of vista and ubuntu for several months but now I want to have a pure ubuntu system because my data is too scattered. Since I started using vmware workstation I don't see the need for a dual boot anymore.

I have 4 partitions: Vista recovery, vista, ubuntu, and swap. How can I wipe my entire computer and install just ubuntu on one partition? Can it be done with the installation CD?

Yes, it can be done with the install CD, just instruct Ubuntu to use the entire drive without using a percentage of it, or just choose manual, remove all the partitions and make the ones you want again.

You could use something like dban (http://www.dban.org/) to wipe your hard drive completely then use the live cd to install ubuntu
