View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Three seperate errors when starting up on a PowerBook G3 Pismo

Hi everybody! I'm getting three different errors after I log in to Dapper on my PowerBook Pismo G3. The first one says that the gnome-panel failed to register with the bonobo-activation-server, error 3. Number 2 says Nautilus failed because bonobo couldn't find the factory, but sometimes this one says something about the file view manager. Number three says the gnome settings daemon restarted too many times, so it gave up.

After all of this, I'm left with a useless brown screen. Luckily I managed to get it running once, and set up a keyboard shortcut for a terminal. I don't know how I got it to work.

If I type gnome-panel into the terminal, the panel will start, but all the applets give error messages. I can also start the gnome-settings-daemon this way. Nautilus repeats it's error message if I try to start it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, brown screens aren't the reason I installed Ubuntu! :)

Alright, no one's replied anyway, but I switched to Xubuntu and everything runs great!
