I dont know of any discrete graphics cards on the market that cant run compiz fusion. I cant say that for vista's aero but compiz fusion while being really pretty is not a resource hog.

Heh, care to say otherwise? CF itself isn't resource intensive at all but some of it's plugins can be. For lower end cards there is always desktop wall XD. In any case, the card should definitely be fine as I run CF on my Nvidia 6800 256 MB card (and have a demonstration of it on YouTube). I do however doubt it would run mediocre on anything with under 64MB of GPU RAM.

Yes it will, it has a lot to do with drivers and nVidias are flawless in my experience.

You got that right. My nvidia drivers installed automatically when I tried to enable effects for the first time. I have a 512Mb Nvidia 8400GS and I can run all the plugins I like with no lag at all.

Are you sure that you can't run compiz on that? May be a little slow, but it should run imo. I've seen it work on 64mb cards before.

It even runs on my crappy GPU.
ATI Mobility Radeon X300 with only 32MB Memory :-)
Some plugins run pretty slow though.

The oldest GPU i've ever successfully ran compiz fusion on was a first generation Mobile Radeon M6 LY with only 16mb of video ram. This was inside a Dell Latitude c610 notebook with a Pentium III. I had to use the open source xorg drivers and run it in 16-bit to get it to run the native resolution (1024x768). Once I got it going it ran really well, wobbly windows, desktop cube and all.

xD I'm sure it won't run, cause it's an Ingetrated chipset. Mean, I really don't have a card. D: Damn. xD

I have a 64mb intigrated graphics card. I have many a plugin enabled in Compiz Fusion and it runs just fine.
As long as your compy is semi-new, it can run Compiz Fusion.
