cairo dock not starting?

hi i noticed someone a little farther down on the thread list had this problem but i felt it would be mean to hijack his thread

i installed cairo dock and found it under system tools but nothing happens when i click it

also

when i download the plugins i get an error message saying something about a helper not existing

ideas?

I'm having this same problem. Nothing happens at all when I click to open cairo dock (Applications > System tools > Cairo-Dock)
When i try from the terminal, I get this:
cairo-dock: error while loading shared libraries: libglitz-glx.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


This is a fresh install, version 1.6.0.2.
Any suggestions anybody?

try to install glitz-glz, or even glitz-glx-dev (through Synaptic)

I have installed all that is recommended through synaptic, including those suggested above, but I am still getting the error message and inability to start cairo-dock.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
