View Full Version : [kubuntu] 2 questions,compiz,moniter brightness

i have compiz installed but i can only turn it on through compiz icon.
i would like to have it start when the system starts.but i dont know how,
kubuntu is different from the ubuntu im used to,so im having some difficulty
figuring stuff out,i also need to know how to set the screen brightness,
in ubuntu i had an icon that let me adjust the brightness of the screen
is there something like that in kubuntu?also(3 questions:))i would like to know how to activate the dvd thing you need to play movies.
i hope im not asking to much ,im a little lost here and i need all the
help i can get!thanx in advance.

Hi and I believe there is sessions still in KDE. That is where you will need to add compiz. You may use the help to aid you in finding this as I do not use KDE. Also you may look here

I am not familiar with this app but you should be able to use any app from KDE in Gnome. Also see the link above.
